UKMC’s Maria Meyers set to retire by late summer

Maria Meyers

The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UKMC) is preparing to see Maria Meyers, vice chancellor for commercialisation and entrepreneurship, move into retirement.

Meyers will stay in her role until a successor has been appointed, which the university expects to do by late summer.

Meyers has worked for UKMC since 2003, and has held her current role since November 2023.

Much of her focus over the years has been the UKMC Innovation Center, but she also launched KCSourcelink in 2003 as a resource for entrepreneurs in the Kansas City region. There are now affiliate hubs across the US.

She also worked to establish venture capital funds in the region.
