Alexander Khalessi , the chair of neurological surgery and a professor of surgery, radiology and neurosciences at UC San Diego Health, has been promoted to chief innovation officer.
He will additionally serve as the interim assistant vice chancellor for health sciences innovation and AI at the academic health centre.
