Breakthrough Victoria, the investment firm established by the Australian state government of Victoria, has committed an undisclosed amount to the SYNthesis BioVentures Fund I, which invests in startups originating from academic research.
Breakthrough Victoria invested as part of a series of commitments totalling A$75 million. The Scale Venture Fund I, the Virescent Ventures Fund II, the Galileo Ventures Fund II, and the North American Health & Life Sciences Fund have also received unspecified amounts of capital.
