Florian Spoerl has been hired by the University of Waikato as its new director of commercial and business partnerships. He will join the institution in mid-January.
Spoerl has been the chief product officer at Callaghan Innovation since March, having worked for the commercialisation organisation since 2019. Callaghan Innovation is being wound down in a major shake-up of New Zealand’s technology transfer policy.
