The University of Klagenfurt in Austria has established a technology transfer office and recruited Harald Jenull as its founding director.
The TTO will support faculty, staff, and students in protecting and exploiting intellectual property. It has also been tasked with developing a structured process for spinout creation and fostering industry partnerships.
Jenull most recently served as senior expert for entrepreneurship and technology transfer at the build! Gründerzentrum Kärnten, an incubator whose shareholders include the University of Klagenfurt, the Kärnten University of Applied Sciences, and TU Graz.
Earlier in his career, Jenull was the head of technology transfer at the Ludwig Maximilians University Munich from January 2021 to June 2023.
Before this, he worked for UnternehmerTUM, the entrepreneurship arm of TU Munich, for nearly a decade, most latterly as executive director of pre-incubation.
He has also worked in technology transfer for the Austrian Institute of Technology and health tech-focused membership organisation Human.technology Styria.
