City St George’s, University of London has promoted Ian Gibbs to head of IP and commercialisation.
Gibbs has worked for the university’s research and enterprise team since July 2017, and since August 2018, has been its head of academic enterprise.
He previously was an enterprise development fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University from February 2013 to April 2015 and again from October 2015 to June 2017.
In between these, he served as head of higher education operations at Cogent Skills, a strategic body for skills in the science and technology sector.
Earlier in his career, he was the director of enterprise at the University of the Arts London from 2011 to 2012. He was the head of knowledge transfer and innovation at the University of West London from 2008 to 2011.
