Aberdeen appoints Lucy Leiper as interim head of innovation, seeks permanent director

Lucy Leiper has been appointed interim director of research and innovation at the University of Aberdeen.

Leiper has been with the university for nearly three decades, having gained her PhD in molecular endocrinology from the institution in 2001.

She was a postdoc researcher from 2004 to 2009, before becoming a senior research development adviser in 2010.

Since January 2017, she has been the head of research culture and development, as well as the manager of the Postgraduate Research College.

Elizabeth Rattray retired as the director of research and innovation last year. She had been in the role since October 2016.

The university is seeking a permanent replacement, with job applications open until 25 January.
