Malaysia puts spinout focus into state budget

The government of Malaysia has unveiled plans to bolster commercialisation activities in the country with a series of measures introduced in its 2026 budget.

Among these is a new policy that will allow faculty members at public institutions to take a year-long sabbatical to focus on building their spinout.
