The Swiss Startup Association, dedicated to building a thriving startup ecosystem in Switzerland, has recruited Michael Stucky as its next chief executive officer, effective 7 April.
Stucky brings significant expertise in university innovation to the role.
He has founded two spinouts out of ETH Zurich: exoskeleton manufacturer Auxivo and Glycovaxyn, a vaccine developer focused on bacterial infections, which was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline for $190 million in 2019.
From January 2019 to June 2022, he was the founding managing partner of Teggwings. Launched by ETH Zurich, Politecnico di Milano, RWTH Aachen, and TU Delft, Teggwings was set to be a fund for deep tech university spinouts across Europe.
The project was ultimately shut down, citing a challenging fundraising environment.
More recently, Stucky has been a partner at Serpentine Ventures since April 2023, having joined the firm in July 2022.
At the Swiss Startup Association, Stucky will succeed Regula Bleuler, who has been in charge since May 2022 and has decided to move on to new challenges.
