New Zealand unveiled its new intellectual property policy today, making significant changes to research commercialisation in the country, including the introduction of professor’s privilege.
Officially, the policy to give academics the first right to commercialise their inventions has been dubbed the Waterloo model, as it was inspired by the approach adopted by Canada’s University of Waterloo.
