University2Ventures (U2V) has achieved a first close of undisclosed size — “in the strong double digits”, according to Sifted — for its spinout-focused fund that has a target of €60 million.
U2V’s founding partners are Philipp Semmer , Michael Schmitt and Johannes Triebs , who are all also partners of Earlybird X. The latter was launched in 2021 with €75 million to similarly invest in university spinoffs.
