William (Bill) Kirkland has been appointed interim president and chief executive officer of the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), a nonprofit established by the state of South Carolina to support and invest in spinouts and startups.
Kirkland is the former executive of the University of South Carolina’s Office of Economic Engagement, which he led from the office’s inception in April 2013 to February 2024.
