Adelaide University’s director of research translation and commercialisation, Michelle Perugini, is stepping down at the end of this month and is leaving university research commercialisation altogether.
Her announcement comes just over half a year after Adelaide University opened its doors, with Perugini also becoming CEO of AU Ventures at the time.
Perugini had previously been the head of commercialisation at the University of South Australia and CEO of UniSA Ventures since November 2024.
Adelaide University is the result of a merger between the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide.
She will join Scyne Advisory as managing director in September, and will be working with organisations on implementing AI. The consultancy positions itself as supporting governments and their agencies in building more resilient, secure, equitable and prosperous communities.
“I am enormously proud of what we have built, but most of all, I am proud of the team,” says Perugini. “Together, we created a commercialisation culture grounded in trust, diligence, curiosity and genuine support for one another. I have loved working with such a committed and capable group of people and leaving them will undoubtedly be the hardest part of this transition.”
