George Mason University has started its search for the next senior director of technology transfer as David Grossman announces his retirement.
Grossman has been in the role since July 2021, and since April 2022 has also been vice president of the George Mason Research Foundation. He intends to step down by the end of this year.
He had already worked for the university as assistant director of the tech transfer office from June 2000 to July 2012.
He then left to become vice president of intellectual property at wireless technology developer Ofinno – staying until July 2021 – while maintaining an adjunct professorship in law at George Mason University through 2018.
Ofinno came out of PhD research at George Mason University.
“It has been a privilege to help build and lead Mason’s technology transfer and commercialisation efforts and to work with so many talented colleagues, researchers, and entrepreneurs along the way,” Grossman wrote on LinkedIn announcing his retirement.
