University of Stirling recruits Teesside’s Steph Bales

The University of Stirling has appointed Steph Bales as executive director of research, innovation and business engagement (RIBE), and she will take on her new role in August.

Bales has been the director of research and innovation at Teesside University since July 2017. Before this, she spent more than 12 years at Northumbria University, including as director of research and business services from August 2012.

At the University of Stirling, she will be tasked with strengthening research quality, building strategic partnerships, and creating sustainable pathways for innovation and knowledge exchange.

Bales is also a past chair of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators and the International Network of Research Management Societies.
