VITO has promoted Nils Wuytens to director of technology transfer and investments after nearly four years with the Flemish multidisciplinary research institute.
Wuytens joined VITO as venture development manager in December 2022. He concurrently also served as programme director for accelerator VITO4Starters since January 2024.
As director of tech transfer and investments, he will work to bring more closely together all aspects of commercialisation—ranging from IP and tech transfer to VITO4Starters and investments.
“The ambition is to make the path from research to market shorter, more coherent and more effective,” Wuytens said about his plans in a LinkedIn post announcing his promotion.
VITO is one of the member institutions of multi-university venture firm Qbic, which has close to €190 million under management and is currently investing from its €88.5 million third fund launched in 2022.
