Julio Rios de la Rosa leaves INiBICA

Julio Rios de la Rosa

Julio Rios de la Rosa has stepped down as managing director of INiBICA, a translational institute attached to the University of Cádiz (UCA), after more than five years.

He joined INiBICA, the Biomedical Research and Innovation Institute of Cádiz, in March 2021 and led the implementation of a five-year strategy to enhance its capabilities.

He built up the institute’s knowledge transfer office, leading to the creation of one spinout and five licences, as well as a 200% increase in the protection of intellectual property rights and a 275% increase in co-development agreements.

His work also involved managing clinical and translational R&D projects across five hospitals, 100 primary care centres, and the university.

He left INiBICA on Friday, announcing his departure on LinkedIn without clarifying where he would go next.
