QUT promotes Kate Taylor to top commercialisation job

Kate Taylor

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has promoted Kate Taylor to acting chief commercialisation and development officer.

Taylor has been the university’s director of industry engagement – health and social impact since July 2024.

She has also served as chair of Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia since May 2025 and chair of the Queensland Social Enterprise Council since October 2024.

Taylor has worked for QUT since May 2020, when she joined as director of industry engagement. She was acting executive director of industry engagement from December 2023 to March 2024, and again from June 2024 to November 2024.

She previously spent six years with the University of Tasmania, initially as manager for business development and technology transfer from May 2014 to July 2018, and then as senior lead, bioeconomy for society until April 2020.
