Bath Spa appoints Martin Davies as head of knowledge exchange

Bath Spa University has recruited Martin Davies as head of knowledge exchange, hiring him after four months during which he had offered his expertise as a consultant.

Davies has also been a senior fellow with UIDP, providing his insight on university-industry partnerships since April this year.

His most recent full-time employment was as the pro vice chancellor for knowledge exchange and innovation at Kingston University from May 2022 to November 2025.

Before this, he served as director of business and innovation partnerships at University College London from October 2016 to May 2022.

He was the director of research and enterprise at the University of Greenwich from September 2008 to October 2016, and prior to this, the director of KnowledgeEast, a partnership between eight London institutions, from January 2005.

From February 2002 to September 2003, he was a business development manager at the University of Surrey.

Davies has also been a co-chair of Knowledge Exchange UK, serving in the role from January 2017 to January 2019. Learn more about Knowledge Exchange UK in our podcast episode with CEO Stuart Wilkinson.
